Barbie celebrates 50 years with a historical diorama

Mattel wanted to create a web experience to celebrate Barbie's 50th anniversary. As we researched their material, we keyed in on their historical archive of Barbie dioramas and came up with the idea of creating one large-scale diorama taking users through each decade from the 60s to the present day.

One continuous long-form shot took users through the entire diorama with the ability to interact with and learn about the dolls throughout the journey.

An interactive timeline allowed users to jump through time.
